Privacy Policy

• Account information. Your email address and display name when you create an account (via Firebase Authentication), and your household or organization membership.
• Inventory data you add.Names, descriptions, quantities, categories, custom fields, purchase and warranty details, and expiration dates for the boxes and items you catalog, plus the names of rooms/locations you create — not your device's or your home's physical location.
• Photos. Photos you take or choose of your items and containers, stored in our cloud storage (Amazon S3).
• Checkout records.If you use the “Checked Out” feature, the borrower name and notes you enter.
• Billing information. Subscription plan and status. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your full card number.
• Device and push-notification data.A device token used to route notifications you've opted into (e.g. an item nearing its expiration date).
• Camera and photo library access.Used only when you choose to scan a QR label or attach a photo — we don't access your camera or photo library at any other time.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the Boxmarkers app.

• To provide and maintain the Service — storing and syncing your inventory across your devices.
• To operate optional features you turn on, like expiration reminders.
• To process subscription payments and manage your plan.
• To provide customer support when you contact us.
• To keep the Service secure and prevent misuse.

We don't sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Boxmarkers, each acting on our behalf:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication.
• Amazon Web Services — hosting our backend and storing your photos.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.

If you're part of a household or organization, other members you've invited can see the inventory data shared within that household or organization — that's the core purpose of the Service.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual boxes, items, and photos at any time within the app. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Profile, which removes your account and personal information from our systems, other than what we're required to retain for legal or accounting purposes (for example, billing records).

• Manage notification preferences in Settings.
• Export your inventory as a PDF or CSV (Premium plans and above).
• Request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it by contacting us below.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page, and if a change is material we'll let you know in the app.
